Ephesians 6:1-3
6 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do. 2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise: 3 If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”
INTRO
IF There was one person in our lives who we tend to take for granted the most…I would say it would be our mothers.
A mother is our first friend, our best friend, our forever friend and yet we often neglect her, irritate her, forget about her and yes…take her for granted.
Right from the start….Watching Morgan has reminded me of the sacrifice a mother undergoes.
Morning sickness…huge body changes, pain, skin stretching, weight gain and that's if everything is going great!
Then feeding, cleaning, washing, cuddling, comforting, teaching, …our mothers give up everything for us…
As someone who’s mother is no longer with me I can tell all you here who still have mothers to pay more attention. You don’t know what you got till it's gone.
And for all you out there who are mothers…or mothers to be…May I say on behalf of us all..THANK YOU…we are sorry…We take you for granted…THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS.

POINT#1 HONOR YOUR MOTHER BY OBEYING HER
Ephesians 6:1-3
6 Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.
Even if you do not have the best mother…she is older, wiser, more experienced… LISTEN TO HER!
If she is not a Christian…you must still obey her…but through the lens of Jesus…through the lens of the Bible.
God does not make mistakes He gave you your mother…..you must obey her…
This is not just when you are young…We do not value age anymore…but it takes age to have wisdom…experience counts. Listen to your mother…Obey your mother.
You do not have to learn the hard way….she already has.

POINT#2 HONOR YOUR MOTHER BY TAKING HER ADVICE
Ephesians 6:2
2 “Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:
YOU WANT THINGS TO GO WELL FOR YOU…YOU WANT TO HAVE A LONG LIFE…HONOR YOUR MOTHER!
My mom told me…don’t gamble…I gambles anyway.
Do not drink…I drank hard anyway
Do not do drugs… i did drugs
Be careful who you marry…
Be happy with that small house..
Your supposed to be a preacher
Music is fun but not reliable to feed your family
On and On and On…if I would have listened to my Mother…I could have saved 40 years and about 3 million dollars.
MOSTLY MY MOTHER TOLD ME TO LISTEN TO JESUS AND DO WHAT HE SAID.
SHE WAS RIGHT!
AGAIN…THROUGH THE EYES OF JESUS/THE BIBLE
HONOR YOUR MOTHER BY TAKING HER ADVICE

Ephesians 6:3

PRAY FOR HER
TEXT, CALL AND VISIT (WRITE LETTERS)
TAKE CARE OF HER (LODGES VS LIVING AT HOME)
TELL HER YOU LOVE HER OFTEN
SHOWER HER WITH AFFECTION, HEARTFELT EXPRESSIONS AND GIFTS OF KINDNESS.
In conclusion
Trust me…you won’t have your mother forever…do not take her for granted…obey her…even when you're old ... .honor her…and love her….
