2 Kings 7

TWO LEPERS…CITY SURROUNDED…EVERYONE STARVING..

OUR WORLD, SURROUNDED WITH DEMONS…EVERYONE SPIRITUALLY STARVING.

The lepers are dying, we stay here, we die, we go to the enemy camps, we die…either way we are going to die…let's roll the dice!

2 Kings 7:8-9

[8] When the men with leprosy arrived at the edge of the camp, they went into one tent after another, eating and drinking wine; and they carried off silver and gold and clothing and hid it. [9] Finally, they said to each other, "This is not right. This is a day of good news, and we aren't sharing it with anyone! If we wait until morning, some calamity will certainly fall upon us. Come on, let's go back and tell the people at the palace."

We have found it!...bread! Living water…we have the good news! We are wrong if we don’t tell everyone around us.

So how do we do this?

BEFORE YOU PREACH, BEFORE YOU TEACH…LET YOUR GOOD DEEDS SHINE FOR SOULS TO REACH

THE TITLE OF MY SERMON TODAY IS FISHING FOR PEOPLE PART 2: LIVE IT BEFORE YOU PREACH IT!

Matthew 5:14-16

[14] "You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. [15] No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. [16] In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

POINT#1 GOOD DEEDS DO NOT GET YOU SAVED BUT THEY ARE EVIDENCE THAT YOU ARE SAVED.

Matthew 5:14

[14] "You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

Met a lady, smiling, happy, servant…showed us love and respect…went out of her way to help us…I knew she knew Jesus because I could smell Him all over her.

If you really know Jesus personally…He will ooze out of you like whipping cream coming out of a can.

We have died…we no longer live…it's Jesus who lives in us…We don’t have to try to be good…it will just be who we are.

It's not about trying to be good so we can get to heaven…it's about being reborn as a new creation who has no interest in hurting others anymore.

Hurting Jesus,Hurting others and Hurting ourselves

We now want to Love Jesus, Love others and Love ourselves.

It's not us, it's Him!

We don’t do Good Deeds to get saved…We do Good Deeds because we are saved…

POINT#2 IF YOU OPENLY DECLARE THAT JESUS IS LORD AND BElIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU SHALL BE SAVED

Matthew 5:15

If Jesus is not your boss…your Lord…then you don’t really believe He’s alive….You don’t really believe He’s the Truth and you certainly don’t believe He's the Life!

This means your not saved

When you actually become a Christian it is way more than saying a prayer ... .It's dying and becoming a whole new person..Jesus moves in …He lives in you…baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Attached to the vine…walking in the spirit….It's about becoming One with Christ, One with God and One with His Church.

When Jesus is living in you…it's so much more than following rules…it's about not behaving…Its about being

it's not about fear…its about faith

It's not about works its about love…love for Jesus, love for others

POINT#3 PREACH THE GOSPEL, USE WORDS WHEN YOU HAVE TO!

How you drive

How you talk

How you dress

Cutting Corners

Lying

Ripping people off

Showing up on time

Loving your enemies

The poor. Widows.

Don’t enable. Love

Not everyone needs to be in your circle

The first step to fishing for people is to Know Jesus personally…to be attached to the vine…to walk in the Spirit.

Its about becoming Him and letting His light shine through you 24/7 365.

PREACH THE GOSPEL, USE WORDS WHEN YOU HAVE TO!
